Replacing the oven door on a Marathon or Epic electric range is a simple process that can be completed at home with basic care. This guide summarizes the steps shown in the installation video and highlights key tips to ensure proper alignment and safe operation.
Before You Begin
Make sure the oven is completely cool.
Turn off power to the range or unplug it for safety.
Open the oven door fully to access the hinges.
Removing the Existing Door
With the door fully open, locate the hinge arms on both sides.
Flip the hinge locks forward (or upward, depending on the model) to release the door from the range.
Holding the door firmly with both hands, lift it straight up and out of the hinge slots.
Set the door aside on a flat, protected surface.
Tip: The door is heavier than it looks — keep a solid grip and lift evenly.
Installing the New Door
Align the hinge slots on the new door with the hinge arms on the range.
Slide the door straight down until it is fully seated.
Once in place, return the hinge locks to their original (locked) position.
Slowly open and close the door to confirm it moves smoothly.
Final Checks
Ensure the door sits flush and even against the front of the range.
Confirm the door opens and closes without resistance.
Verify the handle and glass are secure.
If the door appears uneven, remove it and reseat it carefully — most alignment issues are caused by the hinges not being fully engaged.
