How does auto-cycle defrost work?

Modified on Fri, 23 May at 10:33 AM

Some of our fridges feature an automatic defrost operation system. When refrigerating, you will notice ice pellets forming on the back wall which is perfectly normal. After the temperature setting has been reached, the ice will start to melt and slowly trickle down the back wall to a drain at the bottom. The defrosted water gets channeled to a hidden tray above the compressor where it evaporates automatically. Automatic Defrost is proven to keep your fruit, vegetables and food fresher, use less energy, operate quieter and last longer than Frost Free models.

Here is a quick video explaining the automatic defrost system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ao-25i8v78&t=5s

Please ensure that the drain hole atop the crisper is unobstructed to prevent the water from overflowing or from ice building up excessively. As the back wall will periodically freeze, please ensure that your items do not come into contact with the back wall as this will result in them freezing.
